Chefs, farmers meet to promote sustainable consumption

BANGKOK, March 20 (TNA) -- World renowned chefs, restaurant owners and farmer representatives from Thailand and other east Asian countries met to exchange ideas over sustainable consumption at a {Re} Food Forum event aptly named ' Responsible Consumption for Sustainable Asia'. Ivan Bremh who is a chef/owner of Nouri restaurant is Singapore proposed the setting up of a close collaborative network between restaurants and farmers so that the highest utility of raw materials can ensured. He stated direct communication between farmers and restaurants will lead to the required raw materials being delivered at the specified amounts which will greatly reduce spoilage and waste. (TNA)
