Chiang Mai Zoo Welcomes Newborn Hippo Calf

CHIANG MAI, March 8 (TNA) – Chiang Mai zoo succeeded in breeding the hippopotamus with a newborn emerged floating near its mother yesterday. The baby hippo is healthy but it gender is still unknown. Visitors flock to see the cute hippo. Now, the zoo has five hippo members. The 24-year-old mother hippo, called Mayom mated eight months ago. The new member is the fourth generation of the first hippopotamous, named Mali, belonging to the Zoological Park Organization. The zoo will later hold a naming contest for the baby hippo. (TNA)
