Chief Minister of the Isle of Man visits Danat

Manama, Oct. 7(BNA): Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, Alfred Cannan paid a visit to Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (Danat).
Cannan was briefed about the institute as well as Bahraini pearl heritage extending for more than five thousand years.
Danat Chief Executive Officer Noura Jamsheer took the guest and the accompanying delegation on an introductory tour of laboratories specialized in examining pearls and gemstones.
During the tour, distinguished samples of pearls and gemstones were discovered in the Institute's display library, which is the largest of its kind at the regional level.
The visit focused mainly on future cooperation between the Institute and the Government of the Isle of Man, particularly in the field of research related to enhancing the sustainability of the marine environment.
The two sides discussed drawing up strategies that contribute to strengthening joint partnership with regard to promoting the trade and industry of pearls and precious stones, based on the pioneering expertise owned by the "Danat Laboratory" and the advanced capabilities of the Government of the Isle of Man.
Jamsheer highlighted Danat’s vital role played by the institute in implementing the national plan to revive the pearl sector in Bahrain, in addition to its efforts to enhance confidence in the pearl trade in the Kingdom around the world.
She outlined world-class services provided by the institute, including education and training services and programs related to the examination and certification of pearls and precious stones.
She stressed the importance of such visits that highlight the institute and Bahrain’s efforts to reflect the depth of the efforts made to achieve national aspirations aimed at reviving the pearl sector, which contributes to supporting commercial and economic development.
Danat Institute, a leading center in the field of gemstones, serves as a window to global markets to serve local and global clients and a hub that provides training and awareness sessions.
