Chief of Public Security receives US Congress delegation

Manama, Nov. 5 (BNA): Chief of Public Security Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan received a US Congress delegation. The chief highlighted the importance of such visits and meetings in reinforcing ties between the two countries. The visits are also an opportunity to highlight the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to promote peaceful coexistence. Al Hassan stressed the directives and support of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to enhance security capabilities and performance through training, modern technologies and opening up to the expertise of developed countries. The delegation was briefed on the expansion of the implementation of the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law and the start of the implementation of the open prisons program. The delegation also toured an exhibition showcasing weapons and explosives used by terrorist groups.
