Chief Secretary Receives Hon. Science Doctorate from Chennai University
PUTRAJAYA, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- Chief Secretary to the Government, Dr Ali Hamsa received an honorary science doctorate from B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent University in Vandalur, Chennai, India last Saturday.
Ali is the first Malaysian to have received the award from the university’s management board chairman, Abdul Qadir A.Rahman Buhari during the university’s seventh convocation ceremony, witnessed by its vice-chancellor Prof Dr Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar.
In his KSN Facebook account, Ali said the award was a recognition for the civil service in Malaysia.
The first recipient of the honorary doctorate conferred by the private university, established in 1984, was former President of India, the late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
At the convocation ceremony, Ali also presented scrolls to 300 master and bachelor’s degree recipients.
The B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent University is the third top engineering university in Tamil Nadu and has been accorded Grade A by the Indian National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
