Colombian FM to visit Thailand July 11-13

BANGKOK, July 9 (TNA) - Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin will pay an official visit to Thailand from July 11-13, during which she will sign a visa exemption agreement with Thailand for diplomats and government officials. Government Spokesman Teerat Ratanasevi told journalists on Tuesday that the Thai Cabinet has already approved the agreement, as proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has assigned Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul to sign the agreement on behalf of the Thai government. Teerat said that the deal proves close relations between Thailand and Colombia and shows an intention to facilitate contacts between diplomats and government officials of both countries. Under the agreement, Thai and Colombian nationals who hold diplomatic and official passports can stay in the other partner country for up to 90 days. (TNA)
