Commemoration Day honours Bahraini fallen servicemen’s sacrifices

Manama, Dec. 17 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain pays tribute to its fallen servicemen on the Commemoration Day held on December 17, launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
It is a special and patriotic occasion to recall the loyalty and sacrifices of the fallen servicemen in military, civil, and humanitarian fields.
These fallen heroes had performed their patriotic duties with devotion and dedication in Bahrain and abroad and sacrificed themselves for the sake of the nation and its security.
During the national holidays and in the midst of celebrations commemorating the founding of the modern Bahraini State as an Arab and Muslim state in 1783 by Ahmed Al Fateh, and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession to the Throne, the Commemoration Day comes to mark those souls who sacrificed themselves while performing their national duty as a beacon for future generations to learn lessons in heroism, patriotism, and sacrifice.
The Kingdom of Bahrain honors its heroes who sacrificed their lives and pure blood for the sake of the land and its people, and as a result, HM the King ordered the establishment of The Royal Fund for Fallen Servicemen in 2016, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the development of programs and initiatives to support and assist the children and families of the fallen servicemen and engage them in social and national occasions.
This honorable day is associated with a white Razji flower and a green palm frond.
The white Razji flower and the green palm frond honor the heroes who have sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation. It commemorates their selfless sense of sacrifice.
The Razji pin is worn on December 9-17 on the left side of the chest.
The Kingdom of Bahrain affirms it is an honorable country that commemorates its servicemen who sacrificed themselves in the name of honor through military and humanitarian defense missions and adherence to the Kingdom's firm positions in defending rights and just causes and averting the danger threatening its people, the GCC region, the Arab and Islamic nations, and all of humanity, within the framework of international peace and security.
