Committee set up to study GAP 2019-2022

Manama, Jan. 8(BNA): The Council of Representatives has today held its 4th meeting of the first session of the fifth legislative term. The Government Action Plan (GAP 2019-2022) was outlined during the session, which was chaired by Speaker Fawziya bint Abdulla Zainal.
The Speaker extended deepest congratulations to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa on leaving the hospital after undergoing successful health check-ups. She prayed to Allah the Almighty to bless HRH the Premier with abundant health, happiness and well-being to continue leading the dedicated march of development of development and progress benefiting the nation and citizens.
She hailed recent parliamentary elections, paying tribute to the people of Bahrain for their unwavering allegiance and support to the reform project and democratic process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. She stressed the importance of the Government Action Plan (GAP 2019-2022) presentation and discussion which embodies Bahrain’s model of cooperation between the Council of Representatives and Government.
The Speaker underlined the importance of the current national phase which, she said, necessitates joint strenuous work, solidarity and cooperation to overcome challenges, attain more achievements, bolster opportunities in all fields for the sake of the nation, citizens and the coming generations.
The Speaker then invited the Deputy Premier to deliver HRH Premier’s speech before the Council of Representatives. His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa had delegated Deputy Premier HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa to deliver a speech on his behalf before the Council of Representatives about the Government Action Plan (GAP) for the Fifth Legislative Term. A committee chaired by Second Deputy Speaker MP Ali Zayed was then set up to discuss the Government Action Plan (GAP 2019-2022) within ten days as per the constitutional provisions.
