Common Standardized Test available on-line

Ust-Kamenogorsk, May 20, 2009 (Khabar) - A republican-wide campaign organised by the East Kazakhstan State Technical University and entitled “Check your knowledge and choose a university” has been launched in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Pupils from all over the country can now try out on-line testing as the university was the first in the Republic to offer such a service. This is free campaign and it covers the whole of Kazakhstan. School-leavers from every corner of the country can log on to the web site and have his knowledge of 5 school subjects checked within 3 hours time. The result of the test can be seen straight after the test is done.

Galym Mutanov, rector, East Kazakhstan State Technical University:
- The common standardized test is an important event in school-leavers’ lives. Our system allows them to find out what mistakes they made so they can return to them and learn them. It will definitely increase the level of readiness of each school-leaver.

The National Testing Centre supported such an idea. The campaign is to last from the 19th through to the 23rd of May. During the first hours of the web site’s opening, close to 400 users signed up for it. Now, some more universities are to join the campaign.
