Constructive citizenship is biggest winner: Moroccan ambassador

Manama, Dec. 2 (BNA): Ambassador of Morocco to Bahrain, Ahmed Rachid Khattabi, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Kingdom's government led by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and the Bahrain’s people, on the 2018 successful national parliamentary and municipal elections.
Quoting a letter addressed from Morocco’s foreign minister to his Bahraini counterpart, the ambassador said national elections’ success was consolidated by the reforms of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, aimed to ensure more accomplishments in multifarious fields in the new phase of national progress.
The results of the poll's second round confirm the clear transformation in electoral trends in the aftermath of the emergence of capable youthful and women activists who will contribute to the democratic policy and effective involvement in running local affairs and enhancement of parliamentary performance of its regulation and monitoring mission, said the ambassador.
Based on the huge positive popular response by voters both men and women, the constructive citizenship is biggest winner for sure in harmony with the spirit of the National Action Charter and the provisions of the Bahraini Constitution. The voters were highly aware of the significance of the democratic process in maintaining stability and cohesion, boosting democracy and achievement of comprehensive progress, he said.
