Control on chemicals banned internationally discussed

Manama, Dec. 21 (BNA): The National Committee on the Prohibition of Weapons of Mass Destruction, chaired by Foreign Undersecretary Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, today held a meeting to discuss Bahrain's participation in the 21st meeting of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons held in The Hague. It also discussed the outcomes of the second International Conference on Nuclear Security held in Vienna, Austria. In addition, the meeting discussed the process of controlling the import and export of chemicals defined in the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. The 2017-workshop activities to be organised by the committee were also discussed. The Supreme Council for the Environment's CEO Dr. Mohammed Mubarak bin Dinah and relevant authorities were present.
