Court to hand down verdict on Iranian bombers

BANGKOK, April 8 (TNA) - The Criminal Court in Bangkok is expected to hand down a verdict early next week against five Iranian nationals concerning bomb attacks in the capital almost two months ago. Police General Pansiri Prapawat, deputy national police chief overseeing the case, said on Sunday, the court is scheduled to hand down the verdict on April 16 against the five Iranian suspects -- four men and a woman -- in connection with the terror on February 14. To date, police are holding two suspects arrested earlier, identified as Saeid Moradi, 28, who lost his legs from his own explosive device, and Mohammad Hazaei, 42, who was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi Airport the same day the incident took place while attempting to flee to Malaysia. The third Iranian identified as Masoud Sedaghatzadeh was arrested the following day by Malaysian authorities in Kuala Lumpur. The fourth suspect, an Iranian woman identified as Rohani Leila, is however, still at large. She is suspected of having arranged to rent the Sukhumvit Soi 71 home where the first explosion occured, apparently by accident. Meanwhile, the fifth suspect identified as a male is still at large.
