Cultural rights importance highlighted

Manama, June 24 (BNA): President of the National Institution for Human Rights, Maria Khoury, has stressed the importance of social, economic and cultural rights similar to civic and political rights, and inseparable from universal human rights. This came as National Institution's president received Waheed Alkhan praising his impressive mission aimed to energize harmony among different peoples through music. Khoury highlighted important topics including the right to participate in the cultural life, affirming that the Kingdom’s Constitution has guaranteed this right, hence the state’s patronage of aesthetic and literary arts as well as cultural services. Alkhan praised the NIHR's key role in boosting the protection of all the various forms of human rights noting the institution's keen efforts in undertaking its responsibilities.
