Culture Min: Iran Ready To Make Documentary Films On Pakistani Figures

Tehran, May 13, IRNA -- Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyed Mohammad Hosseini on Saturday expressed Iran's readiness to jointly make movies and documentaries about Pakistani reputable figures and developments. Hosseini made the remarks in a meeting with Pakistani Minister for National Regulations and Services Firdous Ashiq Awan at Tehran 25th International Book Fair. Pointing to Iran and Pakistan cultural commonalities and friendly relations, Hosseini said about 98 percent of Iranian and Pakistani population are Muslims which formed strong historic bonds between the two nations. "Iranians love Allameh Iqbal Lahouri, the famous poet who played an important role to spread and disseminate Persian language and literature," he said. The Minister said that Urdu and Persian have 50 percent common lexicon which proves the similarities and commonalities. Hosseini expressed Iran's readiness to cooperate with Pakistan in other cultural fields such as holding book fairs and different forums and conferences. Ashiq Awan appreciated Iranian government and nation for providing their Pakistani brothers and sisters with assistance in emergency situations and invited Hosseini to pay a visit to Pakistan and closely see Pakistanis' friendship with Iranians. He conveyed the warmest regards of his country's government and nation to all Iranians and expressed hope that exchange of delegations would lead to further expansion of cooperation in all fields./end
