Customs presidents hails Saudi ties

Riyadh, Mar.23 (BNA): Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa has held the third meeting with Saudi Governor of the General Customs Authority Ahmed in Riyadh. The Customs President highlighted that the ties between the customs of both countries moved forward from the coordination to the integration phase in the implementation of the decisions of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to eliminate obstacles facing trade exchange between regional states. He said that the meeting reviewed various essential topics and highlighted the experience of Bahrain in managing the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition. He invited the Saudi Customs to visit Bahrain to oversee the customs procedures in managing exhibitions and the development of those steps annually to speed up the customs operations. He also highlighted the pre-customs clearance system at the King Fahad Causeway to facilitate the traffic of trucks. The meeting attended by Director-General of Customs Services and some customs officials.
