Death toll exceeds 380 in earthquake in south-western China

BEIJING, August 4 (Itar-Tass) - More than 380 have died in a 6.5-point measured devastating earthquake in province Yunnan in south-western China, Chinese Ministry for Civil Affairs said on Monday. Three were reported missing, more than 1.8 thousand were injured, provincial authorities said. The largest death toll was reported in counties Ludian with 302 dead and Qiangjia with 66 casualties. The earthquake has occurred at 8.30am GMT on August 3. The quake nested at a depth of 12 kilometres with its epicentre located 23 kilometres southwest of the city of Zhaotong.
