DEFC calls on Iranian directors to comment on anti-Islam film in doc

TEHRAN,Sept.16(MNA) -- Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) invited Iranian directors to express their views on the U.S. anti-Islam film “Innocence of Muslims” in a documentary the center plans to produce. In a press released published on Saturday, the DEFC asked Iranian filmmakers to attend meetings that will be held at the center on Monday and Tuesday to express their opinions about the film in a one minute spot in front of the camera. The comments will be used in a documentary that will premiere at this year’s Cinéma Vérité Festival, an Iranian international event dedicated to documentary films that will run from November 3 to 9 in Tehran. The center also has plans to submit a copy of the documentary to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to highlight Iran’s cinema response to such a big insult. Entitled the “Innocence of Muslims”, the amateurish movie originated in the United States and insults the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S). The anti-Islam film was posted on the Internet last week.
