Deputy Chief of Public Security, US Chief of Operations of Drug Enforcement Administration sign MoU

Washington, June 29 (BNA): Deputy Chief of Public Security Major-General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and US Chief of Operations of Drug Enforcement Administration Raymond Donovan signed a Memorandum of Understanding to fight drug trafficking and money laundering crimes through exchanging information and reinforcing cooperation.
Shaikh Hamad said the MoU contributes to the active exchange of information and the implementation of measures to fight drug trafficking, and lauded the level of security cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries.
The MoU was signed as part of the official visit of Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to the United States.
Donovan highlighted the importance of the visit of minister to reinforce cooperation and international counterterrorism efforts.
Shaikh Hamad emphasized the ministry’s keenness to promote cooperation on combating drug trafficking and to consolidate the enforcement of laws addressing illicit drug in order to protect public health and safety.
He highlighted the decades of cooperation, including related security information, training courses and conferences, between Bahrain and the US.
