Deputy PM receives IOV World directors

Manama, Mar. 19 (BNA): Deputy Premier His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa today received Ali Abdullah Khalifa Chairman of the Executive Board and members of the International Organisation of Folk Art (IOV World) on the occasion of convening its meeting in Bahrain. HH Shaikh Mohammed asserted the significance of folk art considered the heritage identity of nations and peoples inherited throughout the generations and ages that preserve their customs and traditions as well as cultural and civilizational heritage. His Highness praised the IOVs' role in conservation of popular art of the various peoples and cultures worldwide and its contribution in showcasing these arts that reflect the life and reality of nations and peoples and their experiences and expertise through simple and instinctive arts. The IOV delegation expressed their gratitude to HH Shaikh Mohammed for the welcoming reception lauding His Highness's care to every aspect that will boost the role of art and culture. The oganisation's meeting is hosted in Manama on March 18-21 attracts delegations from Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, China, Egypt, Italy, the Netherlands, Morocco, Qatar, Tunisia, and the UAE.
