Deputy Premier inaugurates Royal Hospital for Women

Manama, Mar. 21 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa said private investment in the health sector reflects investors’ confidence in the legislative and regulatory ambience pertaining to licensing procedures and operation of health establishments, and simultaneously supports the government’s efforts transforming Bahrain into the region’s medical tourism hub.
The Deputy Premier commended the considerable developmental accomplishments in previous years in the prosperous era of His Majesty the King in terms of the effective private-public partnership (PPP) in all fields that stimulates the expansion of the spectrum of such partnerships to cover health sector and studying the actual needs for medical specialisations as well as to explore the potential investment opportunities in order to continue the government achievements spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to achieve one of the essential goals within the Government Action Plan (GAP2019-2022) and encourage the private sector to assume more of its role as the main driver of developmental process to create quality opportunities for the citizens and employment and investment.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Premier, patronised the inauguration of the Royal Hospital for Women and Children in Riffa in presence of Lt-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Health, senior officials and invitees from Bahrain and abroad.
The Deputy Premier congratulated the hospital’s board chairman and directors as well as all of its staff on the hospital’s official launch to begin its operational processes, wishing them success in fulfilling the growing demand on gynecological and pediatric healthcare in the Kingdom alongside with more than 716 medical and health-care providers including 21 hospitals, 95 medical centres, 41 specialist clinics and 132 general clinics that provide all the various specialisations.
The Deputy Premier toured the hospital facilities that include hi-tech equipped ICU, Labour & Maternity wards, Day Care and theatre rooms.
