Deputy Premier receives Bahrain Writers Association board

Manama, Oct. 22 (BNA): Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, received at the Gudaibiya Palace today Bahrain Writers Association Board Chairman Ibrahim Buhindi, First Deputy Chairman, Dr. Alawi Al-Hashim, Second Deputy Chairman, Rashid Najm, Secretary-General, Dr. Fahad Hussain, and several board members. The deputy premier praised the role played by writers and literary persons to enrich the cultural and literary life in the kingdom through their literary and cultural creative works, lauding the crucial role played by the Bahrain Writers Association in preserving Bahrain's cultural and civilisational heritage, extending bridges of communication among the successive generations and transmitting Bahrain's intellectual, cultural and literary works through translation. Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak welcomed the proposal to launch an award carrying the name of the late writer and poet, Ibrahim Al Arrayed, citing his landmark contributions. The Bahrain Writers Association's Board Chairman and members gave a presentation about the association's activities over the past period, and the future, and thanked the deputy premier for his interest and support.
