Deputy Premier receives newly appointed Foreign Minister

Manama, Feb. 16 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received the newly appointed Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani. Shaikh Khalid congratulated Al Zayani on the royal trust, wishing him success in performing his national mission to achieve His Majesty's aspirations and the visions and directives of the government headed by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister and the support of His Royal Highness, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister. Shaikh Khalid thanked Al Zayani for his important role as the first Bahraini Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), praising his contributions to strengthening joint Gulf action. He also recalled the efforts of Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammad Al Khalifa, Advisor to His Majesty the King for Diplomatic Affairs, during his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs, which contributed to highlight Bahrain’s message of peace, cooperation and respect to the world. Shaikh Khalid stressed that Bahrain has over 50 years strengthened its regional and international presence thanks to its pioneering diplomacy that has been moving forward steadily on the path of development and earning the Kingdom international respect and appreciation. Al Zayani said that he would exert efforts to ensure that the Bahraini diplomacy continues its achievements in light of the Kingdom's comprehensive development in various fields.
