Deputy Prime Minister receives US Ambassador

Manama, Sept. 1 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received US Ambassador to Bahrain Steven C. Bondy. The Deputy prime minister praised the progress of the historical Bahrain-US relations, stressed the importance of expanding bilateral business opportunities and praised the US Trade Zone project. The project is scheduled to be a regional center for US companies and a starting point for countries in the region and beyond due to the Kingdom's central geographical location, ease of access to its various ports and links to an advanced and sophisticated infrastructure network. The meeting reviewed strategic development projects to enhance the Kingdom's economic position and discussed regional and international issues of shared interest. The ambassador stressed the aspiration of his country to expand cooperation with the Kingdom in various fields.
