DERASAT board of trustees holds 8th meeting

Manama, Dec.9(BNA): The Bahrain Institute for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT) board trustees convened for its eighth meeting. Board chairman Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa presided over the session, which was attended by members Dr. Ahmed Hashim Alyushaa, Dr. Waheeb Isa Alnasser, Tawfiq Ahmed Al-Mansour, Dr. Abdulrahman Abdulhussain Jawaheri and Dr. Khalifa Ali Al-Fadhel. The session extended congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier on the kingdom’s celebrations of the national days marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 47th Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 19th Anniversary of HM the King’s Accession to the Throne. The think tank board of trustees discussed the topics and projects featuring on the agenda, highlighting the achievements which market the last quarter of the year 2018. DERASAT launched the National Human Resource Development Report, in cooperation with the United National Development Programme (UNDP). The three-year report (2015-2018) provides key indicators and constructive recommendations to enhance citizens’ living standards and bolster institutional performance. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa stressed the importance of the report which, he said, represent an ambitious agenda to achieve sustainable economic development in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He commended all parties which contributed to the issuance of the report, stressing the importance of cooperation with the UNDP, pointing out Bahrain’s success in moving up seven points on the international benchmarks (2012-2017), the highest stride among all Arab countries. Other issues and achievements on the board of trustees’ meeting were also discussed.
