'DERASAT' to host second annual forum

Manama, Apr. 13 (BNA): The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT), Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, has announced that Derasat will hold the second edition of its annual forum, under the theme “Research Centres’ Role and Impacts on the Policies of the Middle East.” Held on April 28, the annual “Derasat Forum” will attract a wide range of intellectuals, academics and media persons, as well as experts, specialists, and representatives of international organisations, including the United Nations and the International Peace Institute (IPI). Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said that the new edition of the forum aims to strengthen cooperation among research centres across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Middle East, within the framework of Derasat’s efforts to cope with the comprehensive reform approach spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in addition to its keenness to translate the principles of the Economic Vision for Bahrain, 2030, into the ground, and support the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism to serve top national interests and the sustainable development goals (SDGs 2030). He pointed out that the annual forum is an advanced platform for open and responsible dialogue thanks to the atmosphere of freedoms and openness prevailing in the kingdom thanks to the comprehensive democratic process witnessed by the kingdom during the prosperous era of HM King Hamad. It is worth noting that Derasat announced that researchers wishing to participate in its annual form may register via the email: events@derasat.org.bh
