Derasat launches opinion poll for upcoming elections

Manama, Oct. 22 (BNA): Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, announced the launch of Derasat’s opinion poll for the upcoming parliamentary and municipal elections.
The poll aimed at measuring the voters’ opinion on their participation in the electoral process, reasons for voting, learning about the voters’ opinions on the performance of previous parliamentary and municipal councils, in addition to their aspirations for the next parliamentary and municipal action.
Derasat Chairman said the targeted survey sample comprises citizens over 20 years of age, where data will be collected through direct interviews at public gathering areas, in addition to citizens' online participation via the following link: https://derasat.limequery.com/219348?lang=ar.
He highlighted the role of opinion polls and surveys, as a vital and required mechanism, in the achievement of sustainable development and the development of the democratic process.
He said the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has provided all the necessary fundamentals for conducting the forthcoming electoral process with integrity, transparency and justice, to strengthen the foundations of the modern civil state based on the rule of law and institutions.
