Development of cultural sphere
Astana, December 22, 2009 (Khabar) - During the governmental hour in the majilis, the head of the ministry of culture and information Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed has reported on the results of this year and told about plans in the area of culture. Next year the Kazakhfilm studio is to release 12 documentaries and 11 films and TV series. In 2010, in spring Kazakhstan will witness the construction of the new opera theatre and at the end of this year Astana saw the opening of the unique concert hall, which is second to none in the world.
Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed, Minister for Culture and Information of RK:
- Next year the Kazakhfilm studio is planning to release 12 documentaries, which will cover such topics as culture, politics and sport.
The minister believes that in general, the year 2009 was effective, since it witnessed the second stage of implementation of the «Madeni mura» strategic project, completion of repairs of 8 historical and cultural monuments and on 26 units these works are currently underway. The reconstruction of the Sultan Al-Zahir Baybars mausoleum in Damascus is almost finished. Kazakhstan also witnesses the construction of new facilities.

- On the threshold of Independence Day the head of state made a present to artists and all residents of Kazakhstan and opened a unique concert hall, which is second to none in the world. I would like to note that at the same day the president approved the project of new opera theatre, the construction of which will be started next year.
This year the «Madeni mura» web-portal was visited by over 200 thousand people from 50 countries of the world. The days of Kazakhstan’s culture happened in 10 states. Moreover, Kazakhstan witnessed the adoption of 3 laws, managing the cultural sphere and the minister hopes that another one will be adopted by the end of this year.
