Diplomacy academy Executive Director receives former UK PM Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief

Manama, Dec. 28 (BNA): The Executive Director of Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa received Rehman Chishti, the former UK Prime Minister Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief, Member of Parliament for Gillingham and Rainham and Member of the Bahraini-British Parliamentary Friendship Group. Chishti has taken part in several seminars as part of the training programmes for diplomats organised by the Academy, addressing several topics, including freedom of religion and belief, based on his experience in the field, as well as the United Kingdom’s foreign policy by reviewing his personal experience during his service. Shaikha Muneera reviewed with the British MP the steady progress of the solid historic relations between the two countries, namely in international relations and diplomacy. She also expressed aspiration for further academic cooperation with MP Chishti, in light of the importance of diplomatic and parliamentary training for the two countries. The MP thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Academy and stressed that his visit to Bahrain was an opportunity to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation.
