Distribution of 487 housing units in East Hidd begins

Manama, Jan. 28 (BNA): The Housing Ministry has begun distributing 487 units at the East Hidd Town project to beneficiaries.
The move follows the order issued by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, during the Government Forum 2018 to distribute 5,000 housing units.
Housing Minister, Bassim bin Yacoub Al-Hamar, asserted that the East Hidd Town project is part of the Housing Ministry’s efforts to implement the Government Action Plan's programme to to build 25,000 units, emanating from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives to construct 40,000 housing projects.
He affirmed that the acceleration of the housing projects and the distribution process are part of the implementation of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, and reflect the tremendous efforts exerted for the sake of achieving the visions of HM the King, and implementing the directives of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to speed up meeting housing demands.
The minister said that the distribution process of the 487 units will continue until the middle of next week, noting that the construction and infrastructure works at the units, located in Abu Shaheen Street, are 100% complete.
He added that the Housing Ministry will speed up the implementation process at the East Hidd Town Project, like the other five towns, which are being constructed at the same time.
Al-Hamar pointed out that the Housing Ministry will implement more projects in partnership with the private sector in order to provide more housing units to the citizens.
It is to be noted that the 496 units of the first phase of the East Hidd Town project have been distributed.
