Doha Forum 2022: Mexico's Foreign Minister Hopes to Establish a Qatari-Mexican Business Community Partnership

Doha, March 27 (QNA) - HE Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States Marcelo Luis Ebrard Casaubon stressed the strength of ties his country has with the State of Qatar, and expressed his keenness on forging genuine partnership between business sectors of both countries.
This came in a meeting with a Qatar Chamber (QC) delegation, on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2022. The delegation was chaired by QC Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani.
HE the Minister called on Qatari businessmen to invest in Mexico, indicating that the country's investment climate is attractive, and that there are lots of opportunities in various sectors.
The meeting dealt with bilateral relations and the means to enhance them, particularly in the economic and commerce fields. It also dealt with reviewing investment opportunities in both countries. The two sides also explored the possibility of establishing a joint council for Qatari and Mexican businessmen, to serve as an engine of cooperation between the two countries' private sectors.
For his part, HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani lauded the strong bilateral ties between the two countries in all fields, especially in economic and commercial areas, citing the common desire of both sides to further underpin cooperation links at the level of private sector, in a way that helps increase their mutual investments and develop their bilateral trade volume.
His Excellency noted that the two countries trade exchange last year amounted to QR 885 million, an increase of 8 percent compared with the previous year. HE QC Chairman underscored that the Chamber urges Qatari businessmen to explore investment opportunities available in Mexico and enhance cooperation with their Mexican counterparts through establishing new partnerships and alliances, whether in Qatar or Mexica.
