DPM to visit Thai deep South early next month

BANGKOK, September 27 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister General Yuthasak Sasiprapa is scheduled to visit the violence-plagued Thai far south early next month to brief on the government's policies to parties concerned after a recent realignment of local security forces. General Yuthasak acknowledged on Thursday that local people and officials in the Thai deep South need to adjust themselves during the transitional period, until the realignment of state security forces is settled. The deputy prime minister, who oversees national security, said that he has also told local authorities to be on alert of possible untoward incidents during the ongoing transitional period. (TNA)
