Dusit Zoo remains open for one more month

BANGKOK, Aug 24 (TNA) – Dusit Zoo will remain open for one more month before it will close permanently for relocation to a new site in Pathun Thani. The one-month extension period is aimed to give public members more time for their last visit to the zoo, which first opened 80 years ago. Since it announced to close for good, visitors flock to the zoo, so it decided to extend the opening period for another month. Visitors are asked to see the animals in an orderly manner to prevent any impacts on the animals’ welfare and for their own safety. After the closure, the animals will be moved to six zoos across the country before the new zoo in Pathum Thani’s Bangkok’s suburb is ready. His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn granted the 120- acre plot of land to the Zoological Park Organization for the construction of the new bigger zoo for better living conditions of the animals.
