E-customs clearance system upgraded to get ready for VAT

Manama, (BNA): President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalifa valued the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to consider the needs of citizens through exempting basic commodities and services from the Value-Added Tax (VAT). He also highlighted the end of all steps to get ready to the implementation of the tax from the beginning of next year, including the upgrading of the e-customs clearance system and inform customs clearance agents and other concerned bodies of required steps to implement the VAT.
