Education Minister meets UNESCO-King Hamad ICT Prize Director

Manama, June 26 (BNA): Education Minister Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi met with the UNESCO-King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Education Director Fengchun Miao. The director said that more than 51 million people have benefited from the initiatives and marked 19 winners since 2006. “This confirms the importance of this global award and its positive impact on the educational and humanitarian levels,” he said. The meeting discussed the upcoming award title, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic spread. The two parties reviewed the effect of the pandemic on the educational system, how to address the issue based on scientific measures, and develop student skills. The meeting highlighted new educational methods that can be implemented in various educational stages and the role of online learning in the continuation of education.
