Education Minister meets UNESCO programmes expert

Manama: March 30 – (BNA): Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi received the UNESCO-affiliated International Bureau for Education programmes expert Dr. Renato Oberti. Dr. Renato’s visit to the Ministry comes under the ongoing cooperation over the past two years between the Ministry and the International Bureau for Education. The meeting discussed the third phase of the cooperation agreement anticipated to be signed between the Ministry of Education and the International Bureau for Education regarding curricula development, human rights education, tolerance, shunning violence and the culture of hatred in order to continue previous phases of bilateral cooperation which includes several aspects pertaining to assessment and development of educational projects. The Ministry of Education had earlier signed two memoranda of agreements with the International Bureau for Education regarding technical support, know-how, specialist training on curricula in order to finalize the building and development of citizenship education and human rights curricula as per international standards and organizing several in-depth training workshops under the supervision of experts from the International Bureau for Education and the provision of practical application in a number of schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
