Education Minister opens international conference

Manama, Nov.29 (BNA): The third International Education Conference opened today at the Diplomat Hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Education Minister Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma opened the conference being held this year under the theme "Innovative Education in a Changing Era".
The opening ceremony was also attended by The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) Director-General Abdulrahman bin Muhammad Al-Asimi, Head of the Arab Center for Educational Research in Gulf Countries Dr Sulaiman Ibrahim al-Askari.
Costanza Farina, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab Countries in Beirut, officials, experts and specialists in the field of education from several countries were also present.
Kuwait-based Arab Center for Educational Research in Gulf Countries is organizing the two event, which features penal discussions and workshops focusing on the reality of education, current challenges and future requirements.
Addressing the opening session, Dr. Juma stressed the importance of promoting innovative educative and developing learning methodologies to foster creativity and incorporate the 21st century skills.
He thanked Arab Center for Educational Research in Gulf Countries for organizing the conference to discuss key issues and challenges to build modern and advanced education, and to exchange visions, experiences and successful practices.
He valued the role of the center in studying the educational reality in the Gulf countries, and developing educational policies in line with the latest educational trends in the world.
Dr. Al-Asimi commended Bahrain's support to the The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), stressing the importance of the conference, which convenes as the world is recovering from the pandemic, which left its toll on education.
Dr al-Askari highlighted the crucial role of digital technology in developing education and teaching methodologies, stressing the importance of optimizing the use of cutting-edge digitial technologies in enhancing the standard of leraning.
Farina also addressed the conference, stressing the importance of the topics which aim at discussing the reality of education in the region aligning educational policies to serve sustainable development goals.
