Education Minister patronises "Bahrain Joins Us" sport festival

Manama, Apr. 22 (BNA): Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi patronised the ministry’s first national sport festival of the Religious and Jafari Institutes’ students which was organised under the theme “Bahrain Joins Us” and hosted by the Religious Institute. Attending part of the functions, the minister asserted that the idea of the festival is based on forming mixed teams of students from both schools as part of the ministry’s keenness to use students’ activities in promoting tolerance, co-existence, cooperation, dialogue and national unity at schools. The Education Minister was also informed about the students’ allied heritage exhibition in which many public schools took part and which featured paintings, artistic models, jobs, games and traditional costumes depicting the kingdom’s heritage. He honoured the winning students in various competitions as well as the participating schools. He also offered the shield presented to him by the organising committee to the student Abdullah Janahi, from the Religious Institute, in appreciation of clinching first place in the recent GCC Holy Quran and Hadith Competition.
