Education Minister praises Information Ministry’s fruitful cooperation

Manama, Mar. 22 (BNA): Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, has attended the airing of televised educational lessons on Bahrain Sports Channel 2, which started here today at 09:00 am, in the presence of officials from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Information Affairs. Dr. Al-Nuaimi lauded the ongoing fruitful cooperation of the Ministry of Information Affairs- Minister, officials and technicians, citing their keenness to provide all requirements of success for the airing of lessons, the first of its kind experience in Bahrain. He paid tribute to those responsible for the project from the Ministry of Education, who, he said, worked for long hours, to prepare the televised lessons and ensure that Bahraini students continue receiving educational services. The minister asserted that the timing of the televised lessons will be announced continuously so that students can follow them, adding that the lessons will be uploaded on YouTube so that they can watch them many times. He said that 142 televised lessons have been prepared so far, and that more lessons will be produced. The minister added that the move provides an additional option for the students, after the success of the Ministry of Education in activating the digital education content through the educational portal (eduNET), following the formation of 45 teams to produce e-lessons and digital content materials, all of which have been edited and uploaded to the educational portal. In this regard, he revealed that a total of 436 lessons, of which 76 for special education students and 47 for technical and vocational education, in addition to 1099 digital materials, have been uploaded to eduNET so far, adding that teachers have also prepared over 18,000 digital activities and materials over the past period.
