Education Ministry joins hands with MCOT

BANGKOK, November 18 (TNA) - The Thai Education Ministry and MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a most established Thai media firm, have signed an agreement on public relations cooperation to publicize the ministry's policies and strategies through MCOT's complete mass media system. Thai Education Minister Chaturon Chaisaeng and MCOT Board Chairman Sutham Saengprathum on Monday jointly witnessed the signing of the agreement between executives of the Education Minister and MCOT President Anek Permwongseni. Sutham said Thailand's education reform has been on progress, but it takes times to be complete and the Education Ministry will, in the meantime, benefit from MCOT's complete mass media system in publicizing its reform policies and relevant issues. The MCOT president acknowledged that MCOT and the Education Ministry have had a long history of cooperation, but this is the first time the two sides will be joining forces in upgrading national education. The education minister insisted, in the meantime, that Thailand's education is in its genuine reform process, with clear policies for its effective outcome, and it needs cooperation from both the private and civic sectors, through shared opinions in public forums, to ensure its success.(TNA)
