Education Ministry marks World Book and Copyright Day

Manama, May 3 (BNA): Under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, the Ministry of Education hosted a grand celebration marking the World Book and Copyright Day 2019. Held at the Education Ministry’s hall in Isa Town, the celebration featured a number of educational projects implemented by various schools and events, all of which aiming to encourage students to read books and make research. While attending the celebration, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Services and Student Activities, Dr. Shaikha Al-Jeeb, highlighted the Education Ministry’s efforts to encourage reading through allocating reading lessons in Arabic and English for students, as well as equipping school libraries with books and e-books. It is to be noted that the Directorate of Public Libraries is planning to establish a special room to store school books used in Bahraini schools during the 1980s and before in order to preserve the kingdom’s educational heritage.
