Educational sector’s personnel to be trained in positive discipline methods

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On September 9, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports (MECSS) of Mongolia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the protection of children with the World Vision Mongolia.
Within the MoU signed by B.Bayarsaikhan, State Secretary of the MECSS, and Philip Ewert, National Director of World Vision Mongolia, the parties will cooperate in preventing children from any risk and violence in education sector and building child-friendly and safe environment.
To build conditions which will ensure children not to suffer physical punishment, psychological or peer pressure, neglect, offence and bad habits in schooling environment, children’s skills to defend themselves from any violence and pressure and overcome the problems will be improved by means of developing their life skills.
The parties will also co-organize training and advocacy in directions of training the personnel of the educational institutions in ‘positive discipline methods’ for the capacity building to work with children effectively, and increasing roles and participation of stakeholders and the public in the issue of children’s rights, development and protection.
