Egypt pillar of pan-Arab security, pulsating heart of Arab nation

Manama, June 24 (BNA): Bahrain's official, popular, and media support of Egypt's right to defend its borders and protect its national security was a pure reflection of the fraternal, historical and distinctive relations between the two countries, leaders and people. The unequivocal stances were also a clear appreciation of Egypt’s status as the pillar of security and stability in the region and a positive consideration of its honorable historical positions in championing Arab rights and just causes. Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has clearly expressed its full solidarity with Egypt and support for all the legitimate measures taken to protect its stability, secure its borders and lands and ensure the safety of its people. The solidarity includes strengthening Egypt's initiative to achieve security, stability and prosperity in Libya, on its western borders, and to unify the Arab position in combating extremist terrorist organizations and in rejecting foreign interference in Libyan and Arab affairs. Bahrain's attitude is rooted in the belief that Egypt's security and stability are an integral part of the pan-Arab security and that Cairo represents a vital and strategic depth for the Arab nation. The convergence between Bahrain and Egypt was embodied in their stances to resolve the Libyan crisis stated in the closing statement of the Arab Foreign Ministers Council and its affirmation of the Arab commitment to the unity and sovereignty of Libya, the integrity and stability of its territories, the well-being of its people and the democracy practices in its future. The statement also stressed the need for the state and its institutions to resume their role in serving the Libyan people away from any foreign interference, for the United Nations and the international community to force all external parties to remove mercenaries and for working on unifying the military and security institutions in Libya as part of a political solution. Affirming its appreciation of Egypt's status in the heart of the Arab and Islamic nation and its gratitude for Cairo's sacrifices in defending the Arabian Gulf and for its humanitarian stances in assisting its development and educational re-emergence since the start of the 20th century, Bahrain will always remain supportive of Egypt. Bahrain sees Egypt as the pulsating heart and safety valve of the Arab nation thanks to its great army, moderate policy, commitment to the unity of the Arabs, support to security and a just and comprehensive peace in the region, fight against extremism and terrorism and backing of people's rights to security, stability, development and prosperity.
