Electricity Minister receives Canadian delegation

Manama, Mar. 30 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza, receives Eng. Fahmi bin Ali Al-Jowder, who was accompanied by a delegation from Lemay Canada, which specialises in designing energy-saving systems and energy efficiency technologies, led by its Chief Executive Officer Luis Lemay. The minister welcomed the visitors and said that the government attaches great importance to encouraging the use of clean energy, raising the efficiency of energy and enhancing investment in this field as a positive result of comprehensive sustainable development. He said this is reflected in the setting up of the Sustainable Energy Centre to implement the National Energy Efficiency Plan and the National Renewable Energy Plan and to include the two plans in the government's work programme to achieve the objectives of Bahrain’s 2030 Economic Vision. Dr. Mirza gave a presentation about the achievements of national energy efficiency and renewable energy plans, cooperation with the private sector and investment opportunities for local and international companies. The visitors expressed their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Mirza for the warm reception and hospitality. The meeting was attended by Acting Director of the Sustainable Energy Centre Alexander Al-Samahiji and Advisor to the Minister Adel Al-Taho.
