Electricity Minister receives municipal delegation

Manama, Feb. 17 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received a delegation of the Northern Region Municipal Council, headed by Chairman Ahmed Al-Kooheji and consisting of Vice-President Yassin Zainal and others. Electricity and Water Authority Deputy CEO of Distribution and Customer Services Adnan Mohammad Fakhroo was present. The two sides discussed topics related to electricity, water and renewable energy services provided to citizens and residents in Bahrain. The minister praised the sincere efforts of the heads and members of municipal councils to discuss issues. They also discussed issues regarding electricity, water and renewable energy services and means to improve the quality of these services and the development projects to be implemented. The minister also gave a presentation on the achievements in renewable energy and energy efficiency and progress in achieving the national goals approved by the government in this regard. Dr. Mirzan stressed the importance to benefit from clean energy and activate its uses for sustainable energy and a green environment. The visitors praised the efforts of the minister and officials to improve the quality of services in the electricity, water and renewable energy sectors, stressing that enhancing means of communication would result in achieving many developmental aspects that people in Bahrain aspire for. The meeting was attended by Executive Director of the Sustainable Energy Unit, Alexander Al Samahiji and Adviser to the Minister Adel Al Taho.
