Electricity Minister receives Russian delegation

Manama, July 25 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received a delegation from Russian company Watergen, headed by Managing Partner Andrey Martirosov, who was accompanied by Managing Director of Capital Energy Fawzi Al Aradi. Electricity and Water Authority (EWA)’s Executive Vice President of Distribution and Customer Services Adnan Mohammed Fakhro was also present. Watergen specialises in a number of engineering fields, including the production of mineral water from humidity. The visitors briefed the minister on its new and innovative technology to produce water from humidity, which allows the production of clean drinking water from air moisture and is efficient in the use of energy and rationalization of consumption. Dr. Mirza praised the projects and activities of the company and its technology, which has been implemented in several countries, including the United States, India and some in Southeast Asia. The minister said this would undoubtedly contribute to the rationalization of energy consumption and the provision of drinking water technology with better efficiency. The delegation thanked the minister and officials for the welcome and the hospitality and welcomed the opportunity to invest in the field of water desalination and the latest technologies in this field. They stressed their readiness to cooperate with the competent authorities in the electricity and water sector to implement these technologies on the ground.
