Electricity Minister receives UNDP delegation

Manama, Feb. 18 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza, received a delegation from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Independent Task Force on Independent Evaluation of Countries, under the chairmanship of Arild Hauge. The visit of the delegation aims to evaluate the "work document" for 2017-2020, which defines the type of development projects to be carried out in accordance with Bahrain’s 2030 Economic Vision, and measuring the impact of the document on achieving the goals for government agencies. The minister welcomed the delegation and commended the important role played by UNDP and its affiliates in supporting development projects in various countries. The minister briefed the delegation on Bahrain’s most important projects and achievements in the electricity, water and renewable energy sectors. The answered the delegation's questions and expressed his readiness to provide any additional information that facilitates the performance of their specific mission. The visitors thanked and appreciated the minister and officials for the welcome and the hospitality and their cooperation in providing all the information in a comprehensive manner, which contributed to the development of the electricity, water and renewable energy sector in Bahrain. The meeting was attended by Executive Director of Sustainable Energy Unit Engineer Alexander Al Samahiji.
