Emblems Placed In Tehran Ahead Of NAM Summit

Tehran, Aug 27, IRNA – Tehran Municipality's Beautification Organization said on Sunday that on the occasion of the 16th NAM Summit, the capital city, Tehran, has been decorated with temporary structures depicting peace, Persian Gulf and Nuclear Energy. Managing Director of Tehran Municipality's Beautification Organization, Javad Shoushtari, said Tehran is prepared to welcome the NAM guests as the structures are placed in major central parts of Tehran. Shoushtari said flags of 120 countries are hoisted in the entrance of Tehran from the airport. He added that majority of Tehran bridges and all the bridges lying on the way of the foreign guests from Imam Khomeini International Airport to the venue of the Summit have been illuminated. The official said the Quranic verse “And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not disunited - The Holy Quran- surah 3 - Ayah 103 “, which supports the Summit motto: “Lasting peace through joint global governance”, has been placed in most of tableaus in the city. He added that the Farsi and English versions of the poems, composed by such renowned poets as Hafez, Saadi and Ferdowsi, are on public tableaus installed in the city. Furthermore, he said, 1,000 meters wall paintings, depicting the late Imam Khomeini, Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and peaceful nuclear energy, are done on the streets.
