Ex-presidential candidate Oleg Tsarev faces arrest sanctioned by Ukrainian Rada

KIEV, June 3 (Itar-Tass) - The Ukrainian Rada has sanctioned the arrest of one of the leaders of the Ukrainian opposition Oleg Tsarev, who criticized the recent presidential election in Ukraine held amidst civil war. Nevertheless, a total of 235 out of 226 Rada votes necessary have supported Oleg Tsarev's arrest .
Oleg Tsarev had been running for the post of the Ukrainian president, but he withdrew from the election campaign on his own free will. He declared that the Kiev authorities in violation of all democratic norms had denied him an opportunity to bring home his position to the people in central and western Ukraine. Tsarev also called on the other presidential candidates, whose basic electorate was concentrated in the southeast of Ukraine, to quit the presidential race. "The election being held amidst civil war should be boycotted," Tsarev said then.
Last week Rada-appointed Acting Prosecutor-general Oleg Makhnitsky declared when speaking at the Ukrainian Rada that the Prosecutor's general had been investigating several criminal cases against Tsarev accused of making " public calls to overthrow the existing constitutional system in Ukraine, change its state borders and stage acts of disobedience, which entailed grave consequences and caused many casualties among law enforcers and peaceful civilians".
