Expo held in Thai North to ready local sectors for AC

BANGKOK, August 22 (TNA) - Chiang Rai province stages an expo on 'Chiang Rai towards ASEAN Community 2015', in preparation for the integration of the ASEAN bloc in three years time. Governor of Chiang Rai province Thanin Supasaen Wednesday presided over the opening ceremony of the expo, which is aimed at boosting the readiness of every sector in the province for the upcoming implementation of the ASEAN Community (AC) in 2015. The expo featured exhibitions of traditional and cultural shows of the countries in the ASEAN bloc, where visitors can take home brochures to learn more about each country in the grouping so as to gain better knowledge and understanding of the neighbours, which would help foster closer ties between peoples of ASEAN.
