Far south welcomes Thai, Malaysian PMs
BANGKOK, July 30 (TNA) - Thailand’s southernmost Narathiwat province has been prepared to welcome Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak, who are scheduled to visit the province on August 3.
Narathiwat Governor Apinan Suetanuwong on Tuesday inspected progress of the preparations at the Provincial Hall and its compound, including the Chalerm Prakiart Building, built on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 84th birthday anniversary, and a cultural ground.
During their visit to Narathiwat, the Thai and Malaysian premiers will join local Muslims in observing the completion of Ramadan fasting month.
The Thai and Malaysian leaders' forthcoming trip to the Thai deep South is also aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries, including joint efforts for a solution to violent unrest in the Thai far South. (TNA)
